Nestled in the suburban of Salt Lake City, a new private house recently stood out from the crowd with its modern and elegant architectural style. Our Doorwin team had the pleasure of working with the homeowner to bring their vision to life.
When there is a region with harsh winters and hot summers, our experts knew that the patio doors chosen for this project needed to provide enhanced energy efficiency to keep the homeowners comfortable year-round. After careful consideration, we decided to use thermal break aluminum profiles with a double-glazing system for the bifold doors.
As part of the project, we communicated with the homeowner every step of the way to ensure that their vision was being realized. We wanted to make sure that they were completely satisfied with the finished product. Tips: Sliding Doors vs Bifold Doors
One factor property owner might be hesitant to select bifold doors is the number of sightlines needed compared to sliding doors, which typically have a 'glass wall surface' effect. In another way, bifold doors are constructed from several door panels, each with its own framework, but when they are fully opened, there is no obstacle in between, as the sliding door must have a panel left in the track, so bifold can give a wider entrance and more fresh air.

The windows included thermal break tilt & turn windows and trapezoid windows, all with the same specifications as the bifold doors. To address the region's climate challenges, we customized the opening system to include an upper half fixed window and a lower half tilt and turn window. This innovative design allows for optimal ventilation while still maintaining maximum energy efficiency.

01 / Profiles
Doorwin applies the best thermal break aluminum for ultra-large bifold patio doors. Thermal break aluminum is a material that applies a polyamide bar (PA66 Nylon) between the interior and exterior aluminum to stop heat transmission, also known as thermally broken aluminum. The polyamide bar is usually non-metal. The polyamide we use is from the world-famous brand Technoform Bautec™. Our thermal break aluminum products have a range of U-factors (heat loss rate) from 0.2 to 0.3. In addition, our thermal break aluminum is more than 1.8 mm in thickness, which is much thicker and stronger than other companies in the market.
Our bifold doors are a great solution for ultra-large openings, we can make it up to 18 door panels with a total of 50ft long and 10ft high. Our bifold doors can give you the best panoramic view and effortless entrance whether commercial or residential need.
Every project is unique and requires a personal touch. That's why we offer a range of 250+ RAL options for our aluminum profiles to match any design style. Our standard color options include white, black, gray, and bronze, but we also offer custom colors to match your exact specifications. In addition, we offer a wood grain paint option for those who desire the look of natural wood without the maintenance. Our wood grain paint is available in a variety of colors and textures, and it provides the same durability as our standard color options.
02 / Glazing
For glass, we provide fully tempered double-pane glass as our standard option. With US standards and NFRC certifications, our energy-efficient integrated glazing units (IGU) feature double or triple panes glasses, warm-edge spacers, argon gas fill, Low-E coatings, and fully tempered glass, greatly improving the energy efficiency with a 0.3 U-factor. They can not only create a comfortable and natural indoor environment but also save electricity bills and heating bills around 300~500USD per year according to your whole building’s fenestration areas. That’s a real bargain compared to choosing a regular glazing set.

5-Layers for the Safest Packaging
We export tens of millions of dollars of windows and doors to the U.S. every year, and we know that improper packaging can cause breakage of the product when it arrives on site, and the biggest loss from this is, I'm afraid, the cost of time, after all, workers on site have requirements of working time and it needs to wait for a new shipment to arrive in case of damage occurs to the goods. So, we pack each window individually and in four layers, and finally into (non-fumigated) wooden boxes, and at the same time, there will be a lot of shockproof measures in the container, to protect your products. We are very experienced in how to pack and protect our products to ensure they arrive at the sites in good condition after long-distance transportation. What the client concerned; we concern most.
Each layer of the outer packaging will be labeled to guide you on how to install, it to avoid delaying the progress due to incorrect installation.
